Women who see me for Mommy Makeover surgery come from Naperville, Plainfield, and other cities near Downers Grove, IL, with a wide array of questions. I understand that the customizable nature of this surgery can generate a lot of queries, and I enjoy answering each and ensuring that each patient is as educated as possible before proceeding.
Here are my answers to some of the most common questions I hear each day in my office.
Q: Is Mommy Makeover really an outpatient procedure?
A: It depends on the procedures that are performed during your surgery. For example, if your Mommy Makeover consists of breast augmentation with selective liposuction, it’s likely that you’d be able to comfortably and safely return home the same day. However, more significant surgeries may require an overnight stay. During your consultation, I’ll help you determine whether going home the same day is a viable option for you based on the specifics of your Mommy Makeover.
Q: How much downtime will I have?
A: Although this can vary, on average, my Mommy Makeover patients can expect to take between 1 and 2 weeks off work, gradually resuming moderate activity after this initial period of downtime. Regardless of how much downtime you require, I make sure that you know precisely what you can expect well in advance of your surgery so that you may plan accordingly.
Q: Can I get facial procedures with a Mommy Makeover?
A: Yes. Although these procedures are not considered elements of a “typical” Mommy Makeover, you may opt to add facial sculpting, such as a facelift or rhinoplasty, to your surgery. It’s a completely customizable treatment.
Q: Can I get a Brazilian butt lift with tummy and breast procedures?
A: Although it is physically possible to undergo breast, butt, and abdominal procedures in the same surgery, the logistical considerations during both surgery and recuperation make it impractical. After a Brazilian butt lift, it’s important to keep weight off your buttocks, which means spending a lot of time lying on your stomach. This can be difficult if you’re also recuperating from a tummy tuck or breast augmentation at the same time. If you’re interested in all 3 procedures, I recommend a staged approach to Mommy Makeover. Undergoing 2 surgeries instead of 1 enables you to recuperate fully, ensuring you stay as comfortable as possible and your results are exactly what you envision.
